Senith Ann Couillard Tipton

Senith Tipton, 83, passed away on April 13, 2024. Senith was a gracious lady who was a leader of the Mississippi Bar. She was a beloved wife, mother, and partner. Senith was a founding member of this firm and practiced in the firm’s Jackson, Mississippi, office prior to her retirement. Senith graduated from Millsaps College in 1962. Following her graduation from Millsaps, she taught school. She returned to college and graduated from the Mississippi College School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree with Special Distinction in 1982. Senith was Past President of the Mississippi Defense Lawyer’s Association and was its first female President. She was a founding member of this firm, after having served as a Shareholder in Wilkins, Stephens & Tipton, a Jackson, Mississippi, defense firm. Her career is distinguished in many aspects as Senith served as the Chair of the Litigation and General Practice Committee of the Mississippi Bar Association; she served as Fellow and Trustee of the Mississippi Bar Association; she served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Defense Research Institute; she was a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel; and she was a member of the United States Supreme Court Historical Society. Senith had an outstanding career as a leader in the Mississippi Legal Profession and advocated on behalf of her clients with vigor. She also motivated many of her female friends at the Bar to achieve and participate in Bar Association activities as she had done. Her gracious and charming demeanor will be missed as she related to attorneys, staff, and clients. Senith will be missed as a friend and as an exemplary member of the Bar.
