Rebecca Adelman is a Shareholder of the firm and practices in the Memphis, Tennessee office. She is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and serves as the firm’s President. For over 20 years, Rebecca has concentrated her practice in healthcare law and long-term care and aging services and medical malpractice defense litigation. Her expertise and her scope of practice involve all insurance defense litigation areas including premises and product liability as well as employment law.

For many years, Rebecca has represented the largest insurance companies and long-term care providers and their insurers in the region. She also provides medico-legal consulting services and educational programming. She is highly regarded for providing consulting services focused on formal, comprehensive “expectations management” programs, arbitration training programs, specialized facility admissions protocols, and crisis communication planning.

As a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 listed mediator, Rebecca offers mediation services and training and conflict resolution strategies for businesses and individuals in all areas. In 2010, she founded the Resolution Resource Center of the Mid-South, LLC in Memphis, Tennessee.  The Center provides mediation and collaborative conflict resolution services through certified mediators in the business and healthcare communities and offers a state-of-the-art facility for mediations, trainings, and community gatherings.

Rebecca is involved in state and national legislative matters on behalf of the healthcare industry.  She was selected as Executive of the Year in 2006 by the Memphis Business Journal for her work in providing attorney and risk management services to the healthcare community and was also honored as one of the Top 10 Women in Business in 2006 by Memphis Woman Magazine, as well as highlighted by the magazine in the “Women to Watch” edition in 2011 and 2012. Her strong beliefs in education and peace guided her to found the Chaffee County Montessori School, a non-profit school in Salida, Colorado.

Rebecca is an active healthcare educator presenting for state and national organizations on a broad variety of litigation and risk management subjects.   She serves as Legal Advisor for the American Assisted Living Nurses Association and authors a monthly column for the Nursing & Assisted Living Facility Professional (formerly LTC Professional) and contributes to other healthcare publications.

Rebecca and her son enjoy adventure travel and are avid NBA fans supporting their hometown Memphis Grizzlies. She reads for pleasure, plays the piano, runs, practices yoga, and can cook a delicious meal and speaks fluent French.
